Terms & Conditions

Subject to these Terms, M24 Media Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Perfumers Vault 2 on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. The licence lasts as long as you comply with these Terms.

An account is optional. It is required for one thing only: PV AI. Everything else in the App — formulas, ingredients, categories, IFRA compliance, suppliers, orders, exports, backups, and buying or restoring a Pro subscription — works without one.

• How accounts are created. By Sign in with Apple, offered on iPhone, iPad and Mac, or by signing in with Google, offered on every platform and the only option on Android. We do not issue passwords and never see one.
• One account, one person. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep the Apple or Google account behind it secure.
• Accurate details. Do not impersonate anyone or create an account on someone else's behalf without their permission.
• Deleting it. You can delete your account at any time in the App, in Settings > Account > Manage your account. What is deleted and what we deliberately keep is set out in our Privacy Policy.
• Deleting an account does not cancel your subscription. The subscription belongs to your App Store or Google Play account. Cancel it there, or it keeps renewing.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms — see Suspension & Termination.

Use the Service lawfully and as these Terms describe. In particular, do not:

• try to access parts of our systems you are not entitled to, or interfere with the Service or the servers behind it;
• modify the App, or use a modified or tampered copy, to get around subscription checks, usage limits or safety checks;
• use automated tools to call our services, or place unreasonable load on them;
• resell, sublicense or rent the App or PV AI, or offer them to others as your own service;
• use the Service to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.

"Your content" means everything you put into the App: formulas, ingredients, suppliers, batches, notes, company details, and any photo, document or file you import.

• It is yours. We claim no ownership of it and take no licence to use it for our own purposes. We do not use it to train AI models, and we do not sell it or show it to anyone else.
• It stays on your device. We hold no copy. We cannot read your formulas, recover them for you, or delete them on your behalf.
• PV AI is the exception you control. When you send content to PV AI, you give us permission to process it — and to have our AI supplier process it on our instructions — in order to answer that request, to check that it is about perfumery and is safe, to count it against your usage allowance, and, unless you have switched memory off, to save short notes so that later answers fit your work. We use it for nothing else. We do not use it to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone else. Exactly what is kept, and for how long, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for it. Only submit content you have the right to submit. Do not put other people's personal data, or information you are under a duty to keep confidential, into the App or into PV AI.
• Back it up. See Data Loss & Backup.

Perfumers Vault 2 is free to use in Hobbyist mode. A Pro subscription unlocks Professional mode and PV AI. There are two plans, monthly and yearly, and they unlock exactly the same features — the only difference is how often you are billed.

Prices

Prices are set per country by Apple and Google and can differ between the App Store and Google Play. The price you will pay is shown on the purchase screen in the App before you confirm. That screen is the authoritative statement of price, plan and any offer.

Free trial

• A free trial is offered only where your store makes one available, and only to new subscribers. Apple and Google decide whether your store account is eligible, and the App shows a trial only when the store says you are.
• If a trial is running and you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription automatically at the price shown.
• We may change or withdraw trial offers. Whatever the purchase screen shows at the moment you subscribe is what applies to you.

Billing and renewal

• Who charges you. Apple or Google, through the store account you bought with. We never see or hold your payment details and cannot charge you ourselves.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. The renewal is charged to your store account.
• Cancellation. Cancel at any time in your store account settings — see How to Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Refunds. Apple and Google handle all refunds under their own policies; we cannot issue one. See Refunds. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be given up.
• Price changes. We may change prices. Changes are notified through the store in advance and take effect at your next renewal; you can cancel before then.

When a subscription ends

The App returns to Hobbyist mode. Your data is not deleted and nothing on your device is removed, but Pro features — including PV AI, the IFRA library, exports and QR codes — stop working until you subscribe again. Restore a previous purchase at any time with Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.

What PV AI is. An assistant built into the App for perfumery work: chat, formula advisory and analysis, AI formula generation, the Bottle Scanner, AI formula import, and ingredient and synonym enrichment.

What it needs. Three things: an active Pro subscription, a signed-in account, and your acceptance of the AI notice the App shows the first time. Without all three, PV AI does not run.

How it is delivered. Your request goes to a service we operate, which adds our own instructions and passes the request to Google Cloud Vertex AI inside our own Google Cloud project. We contract with Google and we pay Google. You do not. On iPhone, iPad and Mac you can sign in with Apple and never create a Google account; on Android, Google sign-in is the only way in. Details of what is sent and what is kept are in our Privacy Policy.

Fair use. PV AI has a usage allowance per account, currently 100 prompts in a rolling six-hour window by default. The App shows what you have left. PV AI is not unlimited, and we may adjust the allowance to keep the service running for everyone.

Changes and availability. AI models, features and limits change. We may add, alter, restrict or withdraw PV AI or any part of it, including changing the underlying model, and the service may be unavailable at times because of maintenance or a supplier outage. Where a change is material and within our control, we will try to give notice. PV AI is optional: the rest of the App works without it.

Reporting a reply. If PV AI produces something objectionable, use the report action on the reply. It opens an email with that reply quoted, addressed to callum@m24media.com, so we can look into it. You can also write to admin@m24media.com. Nothing is sent until you send the email.

PV AI is a perfumery tool and is limited to perfumery work: fragrance composition, aroma materials, olfactory theory, accords, IFRA and regulatory or safety-data topics, formula and batch management, sourcing, labelling, and using the App itself. Our server checks each request against this scope, and refuses anything outside it.

You must not use PV AI to:

• get around its restrictions — no attempts to override or reveal our instructions, to make it adopt another persona or "developer mode", or to jailbreak it in any way;
• seek instructions for making illegal drugs or controlled substances, weapons, explosives, or any device intended to cause harm;
• seek ways to poison, harm, drug or endanger a person or an animal, including through a fragrance or cosmetic product;
• seek self-harm or suicide information — if you need help, please contact a local support service rather than an app;
• pursue hacking, fraud, counterfeiting, or any other criminal activity;
• produce content that harasses, defames or discriminates against anyone, or that is sexual, hateful or otherwise abusive;
• submit other people's personal data, or confidential information you are not entitled to share;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property, including by asking for a copy of a protected formula;
• build a competing product, resell or wrap PV AI as your own service, or drive it with automated tools or scripts.

What happens if you do. The request is blocked before it runs, and blocked requests do not use up your allowance. We record a short excerpt of the blocked text, as described in our Privacy Policy, so we can spot deliberate abuse and fix false positives. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to PV AI access, or your account, being suspended or closed, and we will comply with any legal obligation that applies to what we find.

Perfumery chemistry sometimes trips generic safety filters. If a legitimate perfumery question is refused, rephrase it, or tell us at admin@m24media.com — we would rather fix the filter than lose the question.

PV AI is not a safety, regulatory, toxicological, medical or legal adviser. Nothing it produces is an IFRA compliance assessment, a safety data sheet, a cosmetic product safety report, or a substitute for a qualified safety assessor or your own regulatory checks.

Verify before you make anything. Before you make, sell, give away or apply a fragrance to skin, check the current official IFRA Standards, the current supplier safety data sheets for every material, and the law that applies where you sell.

The App's IFRA library is a snapshot, not a live feed. It contains the IFRA 51st Amendment data that you import, and it does not update itself. Any compliance figure the App calculates depends on the library version you imported and on the ingredient data you entered. Check both.

Documents the App generates are assembled from your own data. Batch manufacturing records, traceability matrices, allergen declarations, IFRA compliance certificates and declarations of conformity are produced from the information you entered. We do not verify, approve or certify them, and issuing them does not make a product compliant. You remain the person responsible for their accuracy and for the products you place on the market.

You are responsible for what you make. To the extent the law allows, M24 Media Ltd accepts no liability for loss or harm arising from reliance on PV AI output, on compliance calculations, or on documents generated by the App. This does not limit any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Cancel at any time through the store you bought from. You can also open the subscription management screen from inside the App, in Settings, which takes you to the right place.

On iPhone or iPad (Apple):

1. Open the Settings app on your device
2. Tap your name at the top of the screen
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find and tap Perfumers Vault 2
5. Tap Cancel Subscription
6. Confirm your cancellation

On Mac (Apple):

1. Open the App Store app
2. Click your name or the sign-in button at the bottom of the sidebar
3. Click View Information at the top of the page
4. Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage
5. Find Perfumers Vault 2 and click Edit
6. Click Cancel Subscription

On Android (Google Play):

1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
3. Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
4. Find and tap Perfumers Vault 2
5. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts

Important: Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date, or before a free trial ends, to avoid being charged for the next period. After cancelling you keep Pro features until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your Perfumers Vault account.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from — Apple or Google — not by us. We have no access to your payment details and no ability to issue a refund. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be given up.

Apple App Store refunds:

• Online: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID
• Apple Support App: Download the Apple Support app and request assistance
• Phone: Contact Apple Support through your region's support number

Apple's refund policy and eligibility criteria apply. M24 Media Ltd cannot override Apple's decisions.

Google Play refunds:

• Online: Visit Google Play refund support and sign in with your Google account
• Google Play app: Open the app, go to your order history and request a refund there

By downloading and using Perfumers Vault 2 from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula

By downloading and using Perfumers Vault 2 from Google Play, you also agree to the Google Play Terms of Service: play.google.com/about/play-terms

Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the App. Any claim about the App is against M24 Media Ltd, not the store. Where these Terms conflict with the store's terms for purchases you made there, the store's terms govern that purchase.

Ending it yourself

You can stop at any time: cancel your subscription in the store, delete your account in Settings > Account > Manage your account, and delete the App. Each is independent of the others — deleting the App does not cancel a subscription, and deleting your account does not either.

When we may suspend or end access

We may suspend or close your account, or withdraw access to PV AI, if:

• you breach these Terms or the PV AI acceptable use rules;
• your use puts the Service, our suppliers or other users at risk;
• we are required to by law or by Apple, Google or another supplier; or
• we stop offering the Service or a particular feature.

Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. For a serious or repeated breach, or where the law requires it, we may act immediately.

What happens then

• PV AI and Pro features stop working. The licence in these Terms ends.
• Your data on your device is untouched. We cannot reach it and we do not delete it. Export it, or keep the App installed, if you want to keep working with it.
• Suspension or closure does not by itself refund a subscription. If you believe a refund is due, ask Apple or Google.
• The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, data loss and governing law continue to apply afterwards.

All intellectual property rights in the App, this website and their content belong to M24 Media Ltd or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission. This does not affect your ownership of your own content — see Your Content.

Third-party material stays with its owners. The IFRA Standards are published by the International Fragrance Association and are used on their terms; PubChem data comes from the U.S. National Library of Medicine. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for IFRA.

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, M24 Media Ltd disclaims all warranties. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, that PV AI will be available or accurate, or that the IFRA data, chemical data or compliance calculations in the App are complete or current.

Perfumers Vault 2 is a record-keeping and calculation tool. It does not certify, approve or assess any product, and using it does not make a product compliant with IFRA, with cosmetic regulation, or with any other law. See PV AI Output Is Not Professional Advice.

Nothing here excludes a liability or a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent the law allows, M24 Media Ltd will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including lost profits, lost data, product recalls, or the cost of remaking a batch.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your formulas and ingredients are stored on your device. We do not hold a copy, so we cannot recover your data for you if your device is lost, wiped, or the App is deleted. Backing up is your responsibility.

The App gives you tools for this: on iPhone, iPad and Mac, a manual iCloud backup in Settings > iCloud Backup (tap Backup Now; the three most recent backups are kept in your own iCloud), plus file exports from the App's maintenance tools. None of this happens automatically — nothing is backed up unless you ask for it. Please back up regularly and keep a copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

To the extent the law allows, M24 Media Ltd is not responsible for data loss arising from your use of the App.

Most of the App works offline. Some features need an internet connection: PV AI, the IFRA import, PubChem lookups, iCloud backup and restore, and subscription checks. M24 Media Ltd is not responsible for charges from your mobile provider or for reduced functionality when you are offline. If you are not the bill payer for the device, make sure you have permission to incur data charges.

We update the App from time to time. You are responsible for installing updates; older versions may stop working as our services change.

You must be at least 17 years old to use the App. By using it, you confirm that you are. The App is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has created an account, email admin@m24media.com and we will remove it.

Our Privacy Policy explains this in full and forms part of these Terms. In summary:

• Your formulas, ingredients and batches stay on your device. We hold no copy.
• If you sign in, we store an account record, the notes PV AI saves from your chats, your AI usage counters, and — only if a request is blocked by our safety checks — a short excerpt of it.
• PV AI requests are processed by our service and by Google Cloud Vertex AI on our instructions. Prompts and replies are not stored, and nothing you send is used to train AI models.
• Analytics is off until you opt in during setup, and can be switched off again in Settings.
• You can export your data and delete your account from inside the App.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim there, or requires that its own law applies to you.

If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues in full force.

We may update these Terms as the App changes. When we make a material change we update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not, stop using the App and cancel any subscription.
