How to delete your Perfumers Vault account, what that removes, and what we keep

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This page describes Perfumers Vault 2, published by M24 Media Ltd.

Deleting your account is permanent. There is no undo and no waiting period — the account and everything under it are removed straight away, apart from three small anti-abuse and subscription records described further down this page. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy.

What the account is

Perfumers Vault 2 works without an account. Formulas, ingredients, categories, suppliers, orders, IFRA compliance, exports and backups all work signed out.

You only need an account for PV AI: AI chat, formula advisory, AI formula generation and import, the bottle scanner, and AI ingredient enrichment. You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google, and that creates a Perfumers Vault account on our servers.

If you have never signed in, you have no account and there is nothing to delete.

Export your data first

Export lives on the same screen as deletion, in the Data & privacy card. Tap Export my data. The app builds a JSON file named pv-ai-data-export-<date>.json and hands it to your device's share sheet, so you choose where it goes. Nothing is uploaded to us when you export.

The file contains:

  • your account ID, email address, display name and sign-in provider
  • the date the account was created
  • your avatar colour and your PV AI memory setting
  • your AI usage counters and your recorded subscription status
  • every fact PV AI has remembered about you
  • your recorded agreement to the AI privacy terms, and the export timestamp

Two things it leaves out. If one of your requests was blocked by our safety checks, the log entry for it — including the excerpt of your own text — is not in the file. Nor are internal fields on your account record, such as the platform you last signed in from, when you were last seen, and our safety counters. Email admin@m24media.com and we will send you a copy of both.

Once the account is deleted we cannot recover any of it for you.

Delete in the app

This is the fastest route and it works on iOS and Android.

  1. Open Perfumers Vault 2 and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Open Settings from the app's navigation menu.
  3. Tap Account › Manage your account. It is the first section on the Settings screen, and it only appears when you are signed in.
  4. On the Profile screen, scroll to the Account card at the bottom.
  5. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Two other taps open the same Profile screen: the AI usage card on the dashboard, and your name at the top of Settings › PV AI Settings.

You may be asked to sign in again. Deleting an account requires a sign-in from the last ten minutes. If yours is older, the app reopens the Apple or Google sign-in sheet to confirm it is you, then deletes the account immediately afterwards.

There is a separate Danger Zone in Settings called Clear this device's library. That erases the formulas and ingredients on the device. It does not delete your account.

Delete by email

If you cannot get into the app, or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you by hand. This is not the same as the in-app button. The in-app flow runs automatically the moment you confirm; an emailed request is worked through by a person, so it takes longer and we may have to come back to you to confirm the account is yours.

Email: admin@m24media.com
Subject: Account deletion request

So we can be sure the account is yours, please tell us:

  • the email address on the account
  • whether you signed in with Apple or with Google
  • that you understand deletion is permanent

Send it from the address on the account if you can. If you used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, the address on the account is the relay one ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com — give us that.

We aim to complete an emailed request within 30 days and will confirm by email once it is done. If we cannot match the request to an account, we will tell you rather than delete the wrong one. We work through it by hand, removing the same things the in-app route removes — listed under What deletion removes — and keeping the same records, listed under What we keep. If you can still open the app and sign in, use the in-app button instead — it is immediate and needs nothing from us.

What deletion removes

On our servers:

  • Your sign-in account. You can no longer sign in with it, and the same Apple or Google sign-in will create a brand new account next time.
  • Your account record: the email address and display name Apple or Google gave us, the platform you last used, your last sign-in time, your avatar colour, your memory setting, your AI usage counters and the cached record of whether you had Pro.
  • Everything PV AI had remembered about you.
  • Every moderation entry recorded against your account. We write one only when a request is blocked; it holds up to the first 500 characters of the blocked text.

On the device you delete from:

  • Your PV AI chat transcript. It is stored in the device keystore under your account, never on our servers, and is erased when the account goes.
  • Your recorded agreement to the AI privacy terms.

Your device is also unlinked from the subscription record held by RevenueCat, so nothing further is written against your old account ID. The record itself stays with RevenueCat — see below.

We do not store your PV AI prompts or replies, so there is nothing of that kind to delete. Your formulas and ingredients were never on our servers either — see Data on your device.

What we keep, and why

Three small records survive deletion. None of them holds anything you typed into the app.

1. A deletion record

Your former account ID and the date it was deleted. Sign-in tokens stay valid for up to about an hour, and subscription events can arrive long after the fact; without this record either could quietly recreate the account we just removed. It is kept indefinitely for that reason.

2. An anonymous AI usage count

PV AI has a usage limit. We count it against a one-way hash of the identifier Apple or Google gives us, made with a secret only our server holds — we never store the identifier itself. That count is not deleted with your account, because otherwise deleting and re-registering would reset the limit and clear a block.

The record holds counts and timestamps only. It is stamped to expire roughly seven hours after your last AI request. If the identity was blocked for misusing PV AI, the record carries no expiry and is kept.

3. Your subscriber record with RevenueCat

RevenueCat manages subscriptions for us. Deleting your account unlinks your device from that record, but the record itself — keyed to your old account ID, holding the purchase history your store sent it — stays with RevenueCat. This one is ours to answer for, not Apple’s or Google’s: email admin@m24media.com if you want it erased and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it.

Records Apple and Google hold are not ours to delete. They still hold your sign-in with them, and your subscription and its receipts. Deleting your Perfumers Vault account does not touch any of that, and a subscription can only be cancelled in your store account.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription and does not refund it. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and they are attached to your App Store or Google Play account rather than to your Perfumers Vault account. Pro also keeps working when you are signed out.

To cancel:

  • iPhone, iPad or Mac: open your App Store account settings and manage your subscriptions there.
  • Android: open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.

If you cancel but keep the account, PV AI stops when Pro lapses. You can still sign in, export your data and delete your account — none of that needs a subscription.

Data on your device

Your formulas, ingredients, categories, suppliers, orders, the IFRA library you imported and the chemical structures the app has cached all live in a database on your device. We never receive them, so deleting your account leaves them exactly as they are.

To erase them yourself:

  • Settings › Danger Zone › Clear this device's library, or simply delete the app.
  • iCloud backups (Apple devices). If you have used Backup Now, the app has written JSON backups into its own folder in your iCloud account — we cannot read them. Open Settings › iCloud Backup › Restore to see the backups and delete any of them. The app keeps at most three and removes the oldest automatically.
  • Analytics. Anonymous usage analytics is off unless you switched it on, and it is never linked to your account, so deleting the account does not change it. Turn it off in Settings › Analytics › Anonymous Analytics.
